On September 19, 2024, the Korea Atomic Industrial Forum (KAIF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Czech Nuclear Association (CNA / Česká Jaderná Asociace, CJA) in Prague, Czech Republic. The agreement was signed by Mr. Baekshik Roh, Executive Vice President of KAIF, and Mr. Tomáš Kovalovský, Chairman of CNA.
This MOU aims to foster cooperation between nuclear-related companies of both countries by facilitating the exchange of information and personnel, co-hosting seminars and conferences, and promoting collaboration in human resource development and other strategic areas.
The Czech Nuclear Association (CNA) was established to enhance the role of nuclear energy in the Czech Republic by promoting cooperation and information sharing among key stakeholders. Its members include the Energeticke Trebicsko, a regional energy council led by the local municipalities of Dukovany-Třebíč (the proposed site for new nuclear reactors), and major Czech organizations such as CEZ Energoservice, Skoda JS, and the Czech Association of Building Entrepreneurs (SPS)—the latter having signed an MOU with KAIF earlier this year in June.
The signing of this MOU is expected to further strengthen ties between the Korean and Czech nuclear industries, contributing to the advancement of future joint projects and strategic initiatives.
